Demystifying Enregisterment

In February 2025, I presented an ethnographic field notes inspired visual manuscript I had put together about enregisterment as a theoretical and methodological framework for studying Linguistic Style. My goal was to provide my colleagues, other linguists, and non-linguists with an accessible outline of the theory I recruited for my dissertation. Below, you can read over the text to see how I conceptualize and visualize enregisterment as a practice that is everywhere, in everything, at any time language is being used.
